Bernie Sanders emails message of support for Katie McGinty
Bernie Sanders is no longer running for president, but an e-mail message to supporters this week shows he still has Election Day on his mind.
Addressed to “brothers and sisters,” the message asks supporters to contribute campaigns of four Democrats in U.S. Senate races including Pennsylvanian Katie McGinty.
“For the future of our country, and our progressive agenda, it is imperative that Democrats regain control of the Senate,” wrote the Independent U.S. senator from Vermont. “My guess is that will all come down to which party wins three or four hotly contested races in states like Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Ohio and Nevada.”
He said he supports McGinty because she was one of the first candidates to endorse a $15 minimum wage.
