They did that at the Clinton Kaine convention center event I attended, also.

Some Gary Johnson people also worked the line at Allderdice. There were no organized anti-Dem counterprotestors outside for the first couple of hours, though a couple of different drumpfers drove by with white pick up trucks to yell at the line up. One nimrod clapped at the crowd with his window down, applauding us for backing a "criminal", while not slowing down or stopping. I'm pretty sure it's against the law to drive with no hands on the steering wheel, but that's a drumpf fan for you. "10 and 2, dipshit."

I was there in line from 2:45 p.m., we were backed up to 3/4 of the way up Tilbury, east side of the school, and had the whole long block of Forward, then the entire long block of Shady, then east up Nicholson, by the time our part of the line got close, a bit after 5.

There was a lady with a combo sitdown/walker, who kept hanging around but not going in, moving closer but not going in, as the line approached. And there was also a beefy guy in a USMC sweatshirt, who did the same. Right around 5, someone diverted ~ 100 people from the end of the line to have them jump in front of the ~ 5 hundred people who had stayed in the line up Shady Ave and Nicholson. Some young campaign people started trying to deal with it and announce how it was going to be handled, and the USMC guy started yelling about it, talking over the main woman trying to straighten it out.

I was there in case the campaign needed me, but they had a smashing turn out. I told the USMC guy to "let the woman talk, she's straightening it out. Yelling doesn't help the campaign." I was about 10 back from the door in the main line, and the woman said that they were going to process 4 at a time, alternating 4 from each line to enter, (going to the auditorium overflow area, no doubt.)

It wasn't fair to the several hundred who stayed in the actual line, but it wasn't the disruption that somebody hoped for. Since things were going well, I didn't go hear the speech, but walked back down Nicholson & Shady toward my car on the other side of Murray ave. Some people asked me 'aren't we getting in?', and I told them, 'people are still getting in, they're just working on merging the lines'.

For about 10 mins, as we got close to the door in the north extreme of the school, our part of the line had been hearing some young lady yelling something indistinct, over and over. We were so far away from her that we couldn't see her, she was on the corner of Shady and Nicholson. It was a disturbed young lady with a sign yelling about Clinton and Honduras. So I asked her as I went by, who she was yelling about. She kept ignoring me and yelling, her sign had no info on it, and she had no leaflets or info to give. She didn't want a good long repetitive yell to be disrupted by her having to explain what she was so upset about.

As I got halfway down Shady toward Forward, I saw ~ 7 drumpfers with signs, across the street from the shirt sale tables. There was no lined up crowd by their section anymore, so they weren't saying or doing anything. So I just walked by them without talking, on their side of the street. None of them complained about my large Clinton buttons, the Obama Biden button, or my labor gear.

The only thing I would like to know is if any of Jones' bircher nutjobs got in and tried to disrupt the event. A couple of odd looking people with fedoras from the line jumper group, and the 'marine' would be prime suspects for me. (The lady with the seat walker could have been on our side.) But they couldn't start much trouble in the overflow area. That's why I left, I already agree with what's going to be said, not going to hear or learn something new, and our side had a nice big overflow number of committed Dems.
