Richland County election turmoil

<snip>

We also know the Richland County Council has been trying to figure out a way to get the people to finally approve a tax increase that will raise over a billion dollars. To help grease the wheels of voting the council spent $50,000 of tax payers money to "educate voters on the benefits of a tax increase". We have heard from lots of callers that the lines in Richland county on election day were pretty much limited to areas where lots of Republican's live, while the areas that Democrats lived in had their usual amount of machines. That smells fishy.

Next we introduce Frank McBride to the comedy stage. Back in the early 90's Frank did 10 months in federal prison for accepting a $1000 bribe to vote for something when he was a Dem state senator. In 2001 he surfaced again by getting Mayor Bob Coble to appoint him to the Housing Commision. He's fishy. Wouldn't it be something if Frank McBride had anything to do with this fishy election? For comment we turn to Richland County Lillian McBride...McBride!

Yesterday we told you about Michael Letts and his efforts to get the entire election thrown out and done over due to some of this craziness. He'll be on the show around 3:30 today to tell us more. But since then the Democrats have asked for a recount because of GOP Kirkman Finley's surprise come from behind win. Last night a Judge ordered SLED to guard all the ballots and to recount the entire thing. But today the GOP asked the SC Supreme court to stop the recount! Saying that the circuit judge didn't have the authority. Now that smells fishy too! I don't care if the recount the fishy election or not, it needs to be done over. We've got enough fish stank in here that Jessica Simpson wouldn't have to ask if it's chicken.

or at least I think so, since our state-level legislators are Democrats, and have been for a while. I never did get inside the polling place (as described in an earlier post), but the line was longer than I have ever seen, and I heard there were only three functioning machines.

part of the article I had to snip out. There were about 250 machines never distributed. It is CYA season in the statehouse.
