Anybody know where Governor McMaster grew up?

Anybody know where Governor McMaster grew up?

Wikipedia says he was born in Columbia but I haven’t been able to find out where he grew up. Reason I ask is he has an accent like he came from Cottageville or somewhere around there.

And he attended A.C. Flora High School, also in Columbia.

So I don’t know why he has the accent.
