Archie Parnell, vying for the same seat once held by Frank Underwood, spoofs 'House of Cards' in ad

ax attorneys usually aren't known for their sense of humor, but Archie Parnell, the Democratic candidate who is running to replace Republican Mick Mulvaney in Congress, has released an ad highlighting his lighter side.

The Sumter businessman and first time candidate released an online ad Tuesday spoofing the Netflix fictional political drama "House of Cards," which released its fifth season the same day.

What's the connection? The show features Frank Underwood, a ruthless and (spoiler alert) murderous politician, who held South Carolina's 5th District seat that Parnell and his Republican opponent Ralph Norman are seeking to fill. (And like Parnell, Underwood is a Democrat.)

The comical ad includes the show's memorable theme music, reproductions of the dramatic soliloquies that actor Kevin Spacey delivers in the series and some of the character's most memorable lines.
