Perry in Israel to sign deal for A&M campus there

AUSTIN — Gov. Rick Perry is expected to sign an agreement creating a Texas A&M branch campus in Israel.

Perry and Israeli President Shimon Peres are scheduled to hold a signing ceremony Wednesday at Peres' residence in Jerusalem.

Perry is an Aggie graduate traveling Israel this week with Texas A&M Chancellor John Sharp, who announced on Tuesday that A&M would open a "peace university" in Nazareth, Israel's largest city.

Sharp says the university will foster "understanding and education and unity in Israel."
