FBI: Mom tore boy's genitals, used super glue

SAN ANTONIO — A civilian at Joint Base San Antonio - Fort Sam Houston was arrested Wednesday for nearly pulling off her 6-year-old son's genitals because she was angry with him, and then using super glue to try to repair them, court records said.

The FBI charged Jennifer Marie Vargas, 34, with assault within maritime and territorial jurisdiction resulting in serious bodily injury. She faces up to 10 years in prison.

A criminal complaint affidavit said the child's father, an Army enlistee, returned to his home from work on Sept. 27 and found his son crying in an upstairs bedroom.

The father saw bloody tissue in the boy's underwear and a severe injury to his scrotum, and took him to the San Antonio Military Medical Center, the affidavit said. There, he was found to have a laceration to his scrotum that was 4 centimeters long and he had bruising to his penis area, the affidavit said.

“Due to the child's extreme physical pain, the medical staff had to administer medication,” the affidavit said. “The child was taken into surgery to repair the damage to his scrotum.”

3. Crazy glue on skin is UBER painful...

I have a scar from a terrible burn I got from spilling crazy glue on my jeans.....That stuff gets unreal hot....the injury looked like a 1st degree burn...

4. Super Glue - miracle treatment

I used to play with Stevie Ray Vaughan. Part of our sound came from the use of very heavy-gauge strings (wires). Those fuckers would rip the callouses off of our fingertips.

We kept Super Glue on stage and we would just glue 'em back down.

About a month ago, I fell and cut my shin down to the subcutaneous. I went home, butterflied the wound and SuperGlued it together. Worked like a charm.

But that woman is seriously ill.

I can't say I've every heard of that - which of course doesn't mean it hasn't happened though. But, usually, don't you grab someone by an arm, maybe a leg?

Second of all, she pulled him toward her with enough force to rip his scrotum and bruise his penis???? Since I have those things attached to me I can only imagine how forceful she must have been with the kid. That's disgusting. I hope they don't let her out on bail. She's a danger to the child. It seems overwhelmingly likely she knew what she did was probably criminal and that's why she didn't take the kid to the ER.

A woman accused of tearing her 6-year-old son's genitals then using superglue on the injury had been arrested before for assaulting an ex-husband.

Jennifer Marie Vargas, who turns 34 in December, spent a night in the Georgetown jail before posting bail for the misdemeanor assault in September 1999 on her then-husband, Filiberto Vargas Jr., the San Antonio Express-News confirmed.

Jennifer Vargas, whose maiden name is Hackney, married Filiberto Vargas in February 1998, and they had a daughter together. She was given deferred adjudication probation and ordered to pay an unspecified fine for the assault that occurred a little more than a year later, according to court records.

The couple later separated, he remarried, and she later had her son with another man, records show.

While there have been no previous documented child-abuse incidents involving Jennifer Vargas, the assault on her then-husband and the alleged abuse on Sept. 27 of the boy prompted federal prosecutors to ask that she be detained without bond.

“She is a danger to the community and a flight risk,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Wannarka wrote in a motion seeking to keep Vargas locked up.
