Can anybody tell me why she did this (other than the money, that is)?

Alameel brings deep pockets to the race, with an estimated fortune of about $50 million. He flexed his financial muscle in a 2012 campaign for what is now Rep. Marc Veaseys Fort Worth congressional district. He spend more than $4.5 million in the Democratic primary, ending up in fourth place with 10 percent of the vote.
Hes used his wealth to support both parties. Hes given more than $1 million to Texas campaigns in the past decade and a half, much of it to Republican candidates, including Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and Gov. Rick Perry.
In 2004 and 2005, he gave more than $15,000 to Cornyns campaign and political action committee.
This is the person best positioned to challenge Cornyn... how? I see nothing on Alameel's website about where he stands on abortion, for example.

Does anyone in the Metroplex recall where he stood on abortion when he ran against Marc Veasey two years ago?

(144,890 posts)Kesha Rogers is running for Senate. Kesha is a larouchie who wants to impeach President Obama and open a colony on Mars tomorrow. I really hope that Kesha does not make the run off
Alameel is suppose to be willing to spend $20 million of his own funds. If Cornyn is weakened by Cruz and Stockman, this could be a fun race. If Stockman knocks off Cornyn, then the Democrats could win this seat

(8,322 posts)There seems to be some rumor that Alameel had an anti-choice video linked on his Congressional website, which is now dead.
You don't care that he maxed out to Cornyn a few years ago?
Really? You don't care about that?

(144,890 posts)I mainly want to make sure that Kesha is not in the runoff. Don Bankston and the Fort Bend Democrats have been trying to warn the state party that Kesha is dangerous and you do not want to see her in the run off or as the nominee

(8,322 posts)and am even warming up to Fjetland. And I agree that Kesha Rogers is dangerous and stupid. But our mutual preferences for US Senate candidates don't really get at the motivations for Davis endorsing Alameel.

(144,890 posts)Wendy Davis would love to see a competitive race between Cornyn and a well financed candidate. It is looking like that there will be more money spent in Texas than you or I have seen in a long time.
