Texas Tech scores $38.6 million in contributions from Bayer CropScience and TRIP

Texas Tech announced a $19.3 million research contribution from Bayer CropSciences at a news conference Thursday, Jan. 23.

The contribution, combined with matching funds from the Texas Research Incentive Program, totals $38.6 million — the largest of its kind in the school's history.

“There are a few days over years upon years that are historic dates for Texas Tech University. This is one of them,” Chancellor Kent Hance told a packed room.

The funds will support research in the department of plant and soil science, part of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
