Voters unseat Texas GOP judge who violently beat teenage daughter in viral video

A Texas family court judge lost his seat in Tuesday’s primary election nearly three years after his daughter posted video of him beating her with a belt.

Aransas County Attorney Richard Bianchi narrowly defeated Judge William Adams in the Republican primary election, according to unofficial vote counts.

The 53-year-old Adams had not faced an opponent since he was elected in the 2002 GOP primary.

His daughter posted a video in 2011 that she had secretly recorded seven years earlier, when she was 16 years old, that showed her father whipping her with a belt as he berated and threatened her over illegally downloaded computer files.

Vote totals: Bianchi 1,716 Adams 1,495.

Thanks, Texas, for removing this beast from office. He was beating a child with Cerebral Palsy. n/t freshwest Mar 2014 #1

I'm happy to read that at times Texans can vote in the best interest of their residents, and that those in his district decided that he wasn't suited to sit in judgment of others and booted his abusive behind OUT.

someone like him shouldn't be judging others.

Reminds me of our old neighbor...a judge known to give terribly harsh sentences to anyone involved with drugs. Well years later his own son was found guilty on drug charges. I don't know the outcome but was glad to see what goes around comes around. I wish I knew how he was sentenced...Maybe he recused himself.

She wasn't quite as vicious, but she helped... (and probably believed she helped save her daughter from a more severe beating.) Of course, the Mom probably suffered abuse from the Judge, too.

Hey, Judge, what'cha gonna do now? Blame your downfall and failure on your daughter, I bet.

I'm so glad he lost his Judgeship.

It's amazing what happens behind closed doors. I still feel for the poor girl. I hope she is in a better situation these days.
