Related: About this forumDistrict 19's Prodigal Son Returns (Rep. Randy Neguebauer)
By Carol MorganIn 11 years in office, Congressman Neugebauer has become a finance subcommittee chairman. So what else has he done?
Despite all of his bluster about debt and spending, hes managed to tack on $65 million in earmarks from 2008-2010 alone, most of it going to energy projects. Hes let years go by in creating a real farm bill of substance, even though the majority of his constituents are the Ag sector. The new Farm Bill is benefits no one. The new insurance programs have no subsidy pay-out limits and absentee landlords and board room farmers are now subsidized by taxpayers, while our multi-generation Texas family farms are sidelined and forgotten.
He has little use for our military veterans. Hes voted against most legislation that would assist them, but when his political approval gets rocky, he uses our veterans as a human shield to deflect criticism.
He bashes Obama for no job bills, when in fact, hes obstructed all attempts at creating one.
Hes embarrassed our district twice by yelling out babykiller in front of a national audience and he was showboating for visiting veterans when he excoriated a female park ranger for simply doing her job, carrying out the mandates of the government shut-down that he voted for!
While District 19 was missing its representative, he was chasing Wall Street money to the tune of $547.9k from finance, insurance, and real estate, then $268.9k from the energy sector. Its all available on Open Secrets for reading.

(112,065 posts)2. There are some YouTube videos out there from when she ran for Congress.
She is an equally engaging speaker and reminds me of Molly Ivins. It's sad that she wasn't elected over the buffoon Neguebauer.
