Firefighters Battle Fire at Ellis County Chemical Plant
A fire broke out inside the Pencco facility at 6555 West Highway 34 in Ennis Wednesday afternoon.
From Chopper 5, fire was visible at the top of an interior storage tank. For more than an hour, firefighters could be seen dousing the tank with fire retardant.
The flames would fall and the fire would appear to go out, only to reignite a short time later.
It is not yet known what was being stored in the container, but Pencco is a national distributor of iron products that treat drinking water and wastewater.
Brian Wodetzki, spokesman for Pencco, said all employees have been accounted for.
No injuries have been reported.
