Senate OKs bill offering fines up to $10,000 for posting 'no guns' signs

AUSTIN — The Texas Senate has voted to approve a plan fining governmental entities for posting signs that prohibit the carrying of concealed handguns in areas where licensed Texans should be allowed to carry them.

The bill by tea party-backed Republican Sen. Donna Campbell of New Braunfels sailed through the upper chamber Wednesday without debate and now heads to the House.

The proposal would impose fines of up to $1,500 for a first offense and $10,000 maximum for repeat violations.

Local governments and other official entities would be fined if they post signs that might intimidate license-holders who are within their rights to carry weapons.

So if I own a business I have to let these gun nuts in? Fuck that shit. So very happy I don't live in Texass. I wonder if the gun supporters here at DU see their future if all are armed. Men will rule even more. Not just men, crazy men with guns and a bible in their hand. I hope we here in Ca will avoid returning to the 18th century like Texass. As a matter of fact, I hope some of Ca crazies move to Texass so they can play cowboy all day long. Bang! Bang! You're Dead.

Afterwards you can declare a religious exemption while you cling to your Bible. Then it becomes a matter of your Bible trumping their Bible. Holy sh*t, you might have to have a duel because Jeebus says so.

Once they have govt buildings in place, some teabilly will bring up another Bill to expand it to schools, shops, malls, kiddie parks, private businesses, and anywhere the gunutz damned well please.

Why do their "constitutional rights" take precedent above all other's?
This is idiocy.
I despise these fools.

Governmental entities shouldn't try to restrict any ones right. Beside I would ignore that sign. It's not a proper 30-06 sign, The TX conceal carry law specifically states what is a valid sign and what is not.
