I am surprised that a few of the more rural counties are granting the licenses though.

Looks like that's the metropolitan areas. The first person to officiate at a same-sex ceremony here is a liberal judge whose campaign I volunteered for. He did us proud!

Politely but firmly ask what the hell the problem is with their obeying the United States Constitution, as opposed to the venomous directives of Abbott, et al. I have friends and relatives doing this, and I'll probably lend a hand, as well. Thanks for your efforts.
