Texas Democratic Convention -- newbie thoughts

I am at the convention listening to the screaming speeches of supporters of the various state chair nominees.

The volume of the amplifiers/speakers is sooo loud you cannot understand what anyone is saying. Hint - u dont need to scream INTO the microphone..

... and those fucking annoying cowbells from van Os is a Definite NO Vote. Anyone using noise makers in a cement hall shows a serious lack of consideration and critical thinking skills.

I enjoyed it. Judge Hinojosa visited Fort Bend County three or so times and I was very impressed with the man. I was glad that he won.

The cowbells were annoying. Van Os is a nice lady and has some good ideas but I felt that Judge Hinojosa was the better person for the job.

...my wife and I used cowbells every time his name was mentioned or he delivered a zinger. We helped inspire their campaign to adopt cowbell imagery, and nobody complained back then.

I have no problem with Rachel's campaign using them, either. It's a convention. You've got to expect a little of this to happen.

Yeah, it's a political convention, not an ice cream social. You're supposed to get a little nutty and make a little noise!

Proud cowbell ringer here.

Given that Bell is Chris Bell's last name, the cowbells make sense. I can see that being somewhat clever. The cowbells for Rachel Van Os never made sense. If the sole purpose was to make noise, then why did not they simply not use the horns from the soccer world cup in South Africa.

I met Van Os at the Jewish caucus and she has some good ideas. However, Hinojosa came out to Fort Bend for two separate events and help the local clubs raise money. I had a chance to talk to Hinojosa at one of these events and really like him.
