Windstorm association gets new board members

AUSTIN — The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association has a new nine-member board that has aimed at better representing the coast.

Georgia Neblett, of Port Aransas and director of external affairs for the University of Texas Marine Science Institute and a member of the Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce Tourist Bureau, was kept on the board.

The board's nine members include three who live in coastal counties, three board members who live at least 100 miles from the coast and three insurance industry representatives who write and renew windstorm and hail insurance along the coast.

Before the board had four insurance representatives, four coastal representatives and an independent swing vote.
