Fired employee files petition to remove Dallas DA Susan Hawk from office
A petition to oust Dallas County District Attorney Susan Hawk from office was filed Tuesday, citing, in part, her recent battle with depression as grounds for her removal.
Former administrative chief Cindy Stormer, who oversaw the budget until she was fired last month, sued her former boss and asked a Dallas County judge to temporarily remove Hawk pending a jury trial to determine her fitness for office.
Stormers petition, filed on behalf of the state of Texas, alleges that Hawk should be removed from office for incompetency and official misconduct.
She cites Hawks use of prescription drugs, her recent treatment for major depression and her paranoid delusions among the reasons why she believes Hawk should be considered unfit for office. She also accuses the DA of financial misconduct.
