Telling Gov. Greg Abbott that Texans deserve Medicaid expansion

On Friday, October 16, 2015, a striking billboard landed in the DFW area calling on Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to do what’s economically and morally right for our state by expanding our Medicaid program.

There currently are 1.5 million hardworking Texans who fall in the Medicaid coverage gap, meaning they do not have the income to qualify for a health insurance subsidy in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace, and they make more money than what our current Medicaid program allows. Our state’s leaders like Gov. Abbott are continuing to deny these 1.5 million people access to basic, affordable healthcare. This is not right!

Uninsured adults are at least 25 percent more likely to die prematurely than adults who have private insurance.]

-snip-

SIGN OUR PETITION telling Gov. Abbott to put politics aside and call a special session to address the 1.5 million Texans who are in the Medicaid expansion coverage gap!

They knew his position compared to Wendy Davis concerning health care and most of all, women's health care. Also to deny babies from brown, black, or other than white born in Texas who's parents are Illegal American citizenship.

Am I wrong?

I lived & worked in San Antonio for 9 years, and i was apalled at how many people think it doesn't matter if they vote or not, so they don't bother. Especially those who aren't PUGs. They keep hearing that Texas is a RED STATE and they are the minority. Theyhea r it so often, they believe it. I'm not so sure. i really believe if most of the Hispanics, blacks, and low income people of voting age actually VOTED, the dems would win elections.

This current election (proposed constitutional amendments) will have a record no show rate except possibly in Houston due to a local issue on the ballot and the Mayoral election and maybe a couple of other places.

I early voted Friday and the election judge told me that as of Thursday night, only 4000 people had voted in Tarrant County. That is on the next to last day of early voting.

Predicting a long and very quiet day @ the polls Tuesday, taking a good long book to read.

It seems to me that Abbott must be saying his prayers. Could it be, "God, I am committing 25 souls today to your countenance. I know you will thank Me?"
