There is a separate Women's march in Houston

I was thinking about driving down to the Austin March even though parking would be a problem. This is from an e-mail from the Harris County Democratic Party

I'm sure by now you've heard of the Women's March on Austin, which is a sister event to the Women's March taking place in Washington, D.C. Now, Houston women have joined forces; there will be a march held here in Houston on Saturday, January 21, 2017 for those in surrounding communities around the state that cannot, for whatever reason, make it to D.C.

We stand together in solidarity for the protection of women's rights, safety, health, families, and children, recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country.

The rhetoric of the past election cycle has insulted, demonized, and threatened many women: immigrants of all statuses, Muslims and those of diverse religious faiths, people who identify as LGBTQIA, Native people, Black and Brown people, people with disabilities, and survivors of sexual assault. Our communities are hurting and scared.

This march will send a bold message that women's rights are human rights. We stand together, recognizing that defending the most marginalized among us is defending all of us. Join the Houston Women's March today; RSVP below!
