UTEP player, 6 others indicted in bank fraud
A federal grand jury on Wednesday indicted a UTEP women's basketball star and six others in connection with a $237,000 bank fraud scheme, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Jenzel Nash, 23, who was on indefinite suspension from the basketball team, was indicted on two counts of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, officials said.
"I'm not able to comment on it, but one thing I will say, I care about Jenzel. I'll say my prayers for her. I can't comment any more about the situation," coach Keitha Adams said.
Nash was indicted along with her fiance, former New Mexico State University football player Terrance Yelder, 25, and Michael Nedal Annabi, 38, and his wife Perla Maldonado Annabi, 33, the owners of the now-closed Chubby's Bronx Deli restaurant near the campus of the University of Texas at El Paso.
