Clayton W. Williams Jr. Alumni Center vandalized on A&M campus with rape comment

The Haynes Ring Plaza at the Clayton W. Williams Jr. Alumni Center on the Texas A&M University campus was vandalized early Tuesday with a message referencing rape.

Vice President of The Association of Former Students Kathryn Greenwade said the message was noticed when an employee arrived around 7:30 a.m.

Greenwade said the individuals who painted the message were captured on surveillance footage around 3:50 a.m. She said the footage has been provided to the Texas A&M University police.

The message, which reads "Rape is inevitable may as well enjoy it - Clayton Williams," is a reference to a statement made by the Texas A&M graduate and alumni center namesake during his 1990 run for Texas governor.
