Lubbock Democratic headquarters vandalism sparks bi-partisan responses

The Lubbock County Democratic Party headquarters was vandalized over the weekend with spray painted symbols associated with white supremacy and Neo-Nazism spread across the building.

The Democratic Party shared images of the vandalism via social media Monday morning with the phrase ‘we will not be bowed.’

The spray paint on the building included the numbers ‘14’ and ‘88’, which according to the Anti-Defamation League, are two popular white supremacist numeric symbols. The Celtic Cross, another symbol of white supremacy, was also sprayed numerous times along with the phrase ‘support your pres (president).’

Responses to the vandalism poured in.

Stuart Williams, chairman of the Lubbock County Democratic Party, wrote a statement saying, “Unfortunately, someone saw fit to vandalize the offices of the Lubbock Democratic Party. We will not be bowed. Crosshairs, spray painted or otherwise won’t work. Nevertheless we will persist.”
