Follow-up: Young Republicans president faces felony indictments, documents show

A July-term Victoria County grand jury indicted the president of the Victoria Young Republicans on several felony charges, according to court documents unsealed Thursday.

Andrew Rokovich, 33, faces two counts of engaging in organized criminal activity, a third-degree felony; manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance between 4 and 200 grams, a first-degree felony; and possession of marijuana between 4 ounces and 5 pounds, a third-degree felony. Those charges stem from a June arrest in which Victoria County sheriff's deputies found Rokovich inside a Victoria home with illegal drugs, according to a sheriff's office news release.

Deputies arrested Rokovich on suspicion of possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces June 6, along with Victoria residents Jeffery Lee Garcia, 35, and Christopher Renee Countryman, 35, at a Mandarin Drive home. Deputies obtained a search warrant after smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from the home when they stopped to serve a warrant for Garcia, who was living there.

Countryman and Garcia, who also are listed in the indictment, face the same charges as Rokovich.

A street kid gets caught,
Gonna do some time,
He'll get out 3 years from now,
Just to commit more crime.

A young Republican is caught,
With a couple of kilos,
He's out on bail,
And out of jail,
And that's the way it goes.

My daughter was just hired to do EXACTLY what he is doing. In my state, it is called commerce.

Let the young man stew in his hypocracy, and write a nice letter to Jeff Sessions.
