Last Day to Early Vote: Friday, May 18

Election Day: Tuesday, May 22

1. I finally received a pamphlet from one of the Democrats running for state rep

to replace Blake Farenthold. The pamphlet came from Eric Holguin who I voted for in the first round so I expect that I'll be voting for him again.

I always tell myself that I should vote early, but I never do. Maybe this time will be the time when I break the pattern of procrastinating.

2. I'd love to see that seat flip

Any chance it will?

3. It would be a surprise.

The district was gerrymandered for the 2012 general election so Blake would be reelected after his first term. Republicans have at least a ten point advantage. In addition, I saw plenty of campaign materials for both Republicans still in the race and I expect that either would have a fundraising advantage in this district.

4. I've only voted early once in my life.

I love the excitement of actually going to the polls and having the voting machine, and pushing the red "vote" button on the machine where I live when I'm done with my ballot.
