Federal judge OKs emergency motion to pay Reagor-Dykes auto group employees

LUBBOCK -- An emergency motion to pay over 300 Reagor-Dykes employees was approved Friday in a federal bankruptcy court in Lubbock.

Both Rick Dykes and Bart Reagor, along with their families, appeared in court, but did not give any testimony. Both declined to comment while leaving the federal building. A statement from RDAG was released late Friday afternoon.

“Reagor-Dykes Auto Group was very pleased that it was able to reach an interim agreement with Ford Motor Credit to allow us to pay our employees and their associated benefits this afternoon,” the statement reads. “There is no question that the past seven days have been difficult for the Reagor-Dykes Auto Group family, but we are determined to continue to work with Ford Motor Credit in selling our current inventory and providing the best possible service to our customers. Doors at all of our dealerships will open Monday for business and we look forward to meeting with you and providing the service you have come to expect. Our employees are the best in the business and our first priority. Thank you for your continued support.”

Employees took to social media Thursday saying they were not paid as they were scheduled to be. Earlier this week, Ford Motor Credit Co. sued Reagor-Dykes, claiming the dealerships owes a total over $116 million. The dealerships filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Wednesday.
