Panhandle corn farmers disappointed by trade aid

American farmers were widely relieved last month when it was announced that up to $12 billion would be available to offset the effects of retaliatory tariffs.

However, that relief was short-lived for corn farmers.

The trade aid package was released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Tuesday and showed that corn farmers could only expect 1 cent per bushel, leaving some feeling slighted.

“The aid package announced by the USDA not only fails to offer a glimmer of relief to Texas corn farmers,” said Joe Reed, president of the Texas Corn Producers Association, “but is an insult to their hard work and livelihoods that have suffered gut-wrenching blows from the Administration’s ongoing disruptions to the trade market.”

Reed said that while most farmers do agree with the Trump Administration’s efforts to negotiate better trade deals, the aid offered is not what they were expecting, especially for those who have already had difficulties this year from bad weather conditions.

The KGOP republicans will be ripping off US taxpayers to bribe Agra Mega corps to toe the republican party "family-values" pro-kremlin line in their shitheap, even though KGOP republican TAXES (Tariffs) have totally screwed the ag economy. This one-time republican socialist welfare is for some, but not for all. Tuff corn nuts.

Yet another massive republican screw job on America.

Wow, that isn't even enough to cover the cost of seed, especially the most commonly purchased GMO corn seed. Monsanto maybe losing out too, next year.

I planted organic sweet corn and got a bumper crop this year. Even with all the new GMO corn sellers dumping corn at the market this year, I still sold out. Suck on that Monsatan.
