There are a couple of groups in my county who are taking deputy voter registrars to schools to register students. We have members on the school boards of these districts who help this process but it is not easy

I wish all the Texans on DU would do the same. We can make a difference.

She took him out of school to see the Governor's rally the week before the election. When they had a chance to meet Ann, she told her it was his 18th birthday.

She asked if he was registered and what he would do to celebrate. He replied that he was but wasn't sure what he was going to do.

Her reply? "Go vote" and gave him a big hug. How I miss that woman.

Election day was wonderful, but that night was crushing.

My husband is a high school principal in San Antonio.

Those reports are based on voter registration forms orders from the TX SOS. If an outside group comes in and provides the registration, the outside group provides the forms. (Hence they aren't ordered from SOS)

I know the groups that have gone in and which schools they have been to. Those schools are showing that they are not registering students. About 90% of high schools in San Antonio have outside groups coming in.

I do think charter schools and a few stray public schools are not registering students.

One woman was very upset, started panicking and wanted to barge into high schools and start registering students. That is when I did my research and was able to talk her out of her crazy idea. (Schools just don't let random adults barge in!!!...Registration groups are vetted)
