Denton County post election email blast

Dear Denton County Democrats and Friends:

It's time...for one day off....
These last two years have been an unbelievable experience for so many thousands of us. So many of us went from watching politics on TV to being in the game in one of so many different ways. We won a couple of very important races last night. Michelle Beckley won her race for the Texas House District 65 seat. She beat a well-known incumbent. Chris Lopez won his race for Justice of the Peace-Precinct 6. Congratulations to them and their families and campaign teams.

Today, there is more than just win OR lose....today, we recognize improvement€”we recognize foundation€”-we recognize infrastructure€”institutional knowledge€”engagement€”-turnout€”enthusiasm. Beyond our disappointment on some very visible races, let's choose to BUILD for the next election and elections beyond that. Let's choose to celebrate our wins and get ready for the next round.
Denton County€”we can use the cement we've poured into the foundation of our political infrastructure and build upon it for decades. We now have candidates who've run. We now have campaign teams and people with experience. We've now raised some money. We've now operated a true Coordinated Campaign. We've held events IN DENTON with Senate, Governor, Congressional candidates....with party chairs from all of North Texas, the State of Texas and even the State of California. We can better engage this group of energetic, enthusiastic, optimistic and yes, experienced, Young Democrats. We can now expect and demand more of volunteers in leadership positions. We can build our presence online and in the community and with local business and with the media.

Let's take a day to decompress. Let's be sure the thank the volunteers, the candidates, the teams, the voter registrars, the poll workers, the coordinated campaign team, the block walkers, the donors, the clubs and all the people who worked at any level to help pour cement in this foundation.

In 2019 there will be local "municipal" races around the county. We will need candidates to run and teams to support them. In 2020, we will have elections at all levels of government, up to and including President of the United States. Let's build from here, right now. I'd like to see every single person who cheers for fairness, compassion and open-mindedness in government to support your local county party in any way you can to support this building of the resources we will need to get more competitive. Click here to support the future.
