City View ISD employee stole nearly $325,000 by manipulating taxing software
WICHITA FALLS -- An internal audit of City View ISD's taxing software reportedly revealed a difference of nearly $325,000 between what was owed to the state and what was collected in tax revenue.
That audit snowballed into the attempted suicide and eventual arrest of an employee believed to be responsible for the discrepancy, according to an affidavit released Wednesday.
Judith Ann Heaston, 63, is charged with theft over $300,000 – a first-degree felony.
She was booked into the Wichita County Jail on Tuesday and released on $75,000 bail.
