(22,250 posts)own screen. However we do have 100% paper backup and the machines are impossible to hack
I look at it this way: we lost straight ticket but got a safer voting system.
Seems to me it hurts Republicans as much as Democrats but I don't know that for certain

(9,117 posts)Early voting had started Tuesday morning here in Travis County, Texas and I decided to risk it on Wednesday. Voter turnout was high enough in my part of Austin that I had to wait about an hour or so before I could cast my ballot. Most of my wait was outdoors, often under shade trees and the breeze reducing the chances for catching the bug. I only spent the last 7 to 20 minutes indoors and I was masked up and gloved.
I havent checked figures for todays turnout, but if this trend continues, I believe that Texas branch of Club Pachyderm may have The rudest surprise theyve had in years.
That couldnt happen to a more deserving bunch.

(865 posts)Easy. 28 mins start to finish. We went to an East Austin library branch. Well staffed. No problems. Nice turnout of mostly younger POC when we were there. Poll worker said they had a steady stream all day.
It was satisfying to vote for so many good candidates. Biden, MJ, Wendy... and a dem candidate in every slot. Not just a vote against the repukes. We have really good candidates. I hope enough of us turn out to give these great leaders a chance.
