The State Of Texas After Decades Of Republican Rule
Republicans have run Texas into the ground, and if they win in 2022, the Lone Star State will no longer resemble the state we all love.

1. That's a good article
I haven't had the misfortune of having to go to TX for a long time. Two years ago, on my way home from my last pre-covid vacation, I stopped in Amarillo for gas and kept going. I used to have numerous trips all over the state for work. I hate the hot humid weather, and most of the scenery where I went was terrible. I would never want to move there.
But the "why stay" section of that article did give some understanding. I don't know if they will be successful, but I hope so. TX should really be blue already, but republicons manage to cheat and steal their way into an apartheid kind of rule. I think TX should be a warning for the rest of the country. That's what they have in mind for the rest of us eventually. It's just a matter of time. |

2. Aside from the major cities,
most of the state is ugly and some parts look like they've never recovered from a carpet bombing campaign or natural disaster. The disgusting town i moved from 6 years ago is one of those where the houses are crumbling and people just leave piles of trash/tires/ old cars in their yards.

3. I am so thankful
I don't live in Texas.
It would be dangerous for me to even visit there. |

5. This gives me hope
After Beto’s 2018 run, we learned that most native Texans voted for Beto, while the people who voted for Ted Cruz were transplants from other states. That’s part of why Conservatives hit the airwaves telling people that Texas is an alt-right utopia, to lure more people in like them. |

6. Beto is currently tied in polls with Abbott
Link to tweet Also, there are a lot of reasons to be hopeful in Texas. We have the numbers, all we have to do is show up to win. |
