1. Automation
is much less a problem than American ignorance. 75 million confirmed morons voted for Trump.

5. Unfettered capitalism will turn America into a dystopian nightmare when automation takes over if..
we don't prepare and have leaders in place who will embrace the change.

2. I'm not sure most people have the imagination to visualize an automated world.
Here's a one minute video of a bartender robot. Perfect drink, every time. No overpours of booze.
Then there's AI. It's already doing a lot of medical analysis that people used to do. IMO, we'll never prepare for this loss of jobs, because most western societies are hooked on the idea that individuals have to earn a living, even if there are no jobs to be had. |

7. Just like climate change.
If something isn't going to happen in the next quarter to impact earnings reports, then we pretty much don't give a shit.

8. Yep. Honestly, I think the only way to fix things are to get dark money out of politics.

3. If Repugs win then absolutely nothing is the answer.
It will be the opposite, things will go swiftly backwards. Lots won't innovate, not wanting to spend, but most will automate & dump and do nothing for the ee because they only care for the rich & are fine with the rest of us living lives of desperation with no hope, getting sck & dying younger (Covid as an example) so they can steal our SS $$$.

4. Your 'going backwards' fears might very well be realized already except for some fortunate breaks.
A very fortunate choice of Biden as the nominee, who could do as well as he did, despite his own party. Just enough 'moderate' Dems to help survive, etc.
