Providers fight Texas abortion law asking for case to be transferred

WASHINGTON (TND) — There is a last-ditch effort to challenge the Texas abortion law.

Abortion providers went to the Supreme Court this week trying to revive their legal challenge to the law, four months after it was allowed to take effect, bringing a halt to abortions in the country's second-largest state.

Last month, the Supreme Court allowed the law to remain in effect in a blow to pro-choice supporters.

Justices returned the case to a conservative-leaning federal appeals court but now, those providers are asking the Supreme Court to return what's left of their case to a district judge who has expressed skepticism over the law.
