The town's water is provided by a private company, Monarch Utilities, a subsidiary of SouthWest Water Company. Officials in Blue Mound, which is north of Fort Worth and home to about 2,400 people, have complained that they have considerably higher water rates than the town's neighbors. House Bill 1160, sponsored by State Rep. Charlie Geren, R-Fort Worth, would have made it easier for Blue Mound to obtain the right to run its system.

(15,189 posts)It's on both sides. Even Obama approves of fracking. Fracking is going to destroy us. When we have no drinking water, and dead animals all over the place, who's to blame then? Yes Repukes are more underhanded and greedy, and bossy, but lobbyist pay both sides to turn a blind eye on the environment.

(4,695 posts)Candidates need to be scrutinized very well during the Primary process; even to the point of signing an affidavit of numerous oaths when filing to run for office. Changing from the Democratic Platform over to a Republican Platform, like Chaining Social Security, would then be outlawed. Taking money from a lobbyist would be against the signed affidavit. We need reform where Citizen United is no longer effective or is outlawed.
