Related: About this forumFor the lady in your life: Texas A&M perfume to offer scent of Aggie spirit
Coming soon, you won't have to walk across campus under the Texas sun or spend a night at Northgate to smell like Texas A&M.
The university will have its own official perfume come fall, and officials say it will actually smell quite nice -- with floral and fruity aromatics.
A&M spokesman and top marketing guru Shane Hinckley acknowledged the jokes on social media about what the Aggie products might smell like, but said he expects the scents to sell well.
"It's meant to be serious, but not too serious," Hinckley said. "We know you could 'insert joke here.' We expected to have some lighthearted moments with this, but the reality is we had several female employees that were really surprised, really liked it and are definitely buying it when it comes out."

[font color=maroon]The perfume's top notes, which are the smells that hit the nose first and dissipate quickly, are green lemon leaf, sparkling white bergamot and plum nectar. The middle notes, or the main fragrance of the scent, will contain white jasmine, fuzzy peach tonic and fruity violet. The base notes, the smells that evaporate slowly and strengthen the other notes, will consist of crisp cedar tonka bean, vanilla and aged woods.

(112,121 posts)5. I think that your comment was meant for the cologne thread instead.
It probably also has a few drams of Phil Gramm and a waft of George H. W. Bush Library in the aroma. Whatever the formula may be, it certainly isn't reminiscent of the following:

(7,672 posts)6. This scent sounds quite pleasant.
However, in MY day, the essence of Aggie Spirit could certainly be found at Midnight Yell Practice, which, unless memory fails, smells like sweat, beer, tobacco smoke, and the faint reek of man-done laundry.
Fond memories indeed!
I'm glad they're doing this other thing with the fragrances, though.
