BYU under federal investigation for how it handles sexual assault cases
Brigham Young University is undergoing a federal investigation for how it responds to reports of sexual assault.
The university learned it was under investigation by the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights Thursday afternoon, according to an announcement on the university’s website posted Monday afternoon.
The investigation comes after a complaint was filed on April 18.
“BYU cannot comment on the specific details of the complaint due to federal privacy restrictions,” according to the announcement.
