Hampton Roads schools need to take a simple stand -- No COVID-19 vaccination, no sports

A total of 12 high school football games have been postponed or canceled in the first two weeks of the season in Hampton Roads because of COVID protocols.

And as we enter the third week of the season, I’m sure more games will be postponed or canceled again. Already, Friday’s game between No. 6 King’s Fork and 12th-ranked Indian River has been postponed.

I really thought we were past this.

We shouldn’t be in this situation, not when we have a vaccine.

This isn’t a political issue.

It’s a health issue that we should be past by now.

This policy should receive serious consideration across the country.

Hampton Toads...Tidewater..same thing.

There is a long list of really outstanding athletes who’ve come out of the area basically from Williamsburg down 64 to the Beach and the cities south of the James.
