GOP congressional hopeful walks Culpeper streets.

Culpeper CPA Gerry Culver had some advice Thursday for Dave Brat, the Republican candidate in the November election for Virginia’s 7th District House of Representatives seat.

Don’t lose touch with the people.

“The formality with [Rep. Eric] Cantor got to be a problem, with the security guards and all,” Culver told Brat. . .

Brat said that most small-business owners he has talked with on the campaign trail point to three government problems that are crippling them—EPA regulations, legal and license costs, and Obamacare.

Marc Ast, owner of The Frenchman’s Corner, provided a solution for all that.

“Get the government out of my way,” Ast told the Randolph–Macon College professor. “There is too much government!”

Culpeper Town Councilman Jon Russell, who was part of the small contingent that accompanied Brat, was of the same accord.

“I told Brat that we need to get the federal government out of our town’s business and quit presenting us with unfunded mandates we can’t afford and that don’t make sense,” said Russell. “I want him to be our defender on this.”

The only Fed. regs I can think of that affect him are those that demand cleanliness of the location when you sell or make food. Licenseing costs are LOCAL, (dumb ass), the EPA regulates the environment, so what does it have to do with a chocolate shop? What you mean by legal is anybody's guess. It seems your problem is with Virginia.

Here's a YELP listing for his store.
