Animal Control is investigating two Virginia Beach men after they admitted posting a video online showing one of them pouring gasoline on a hamster and setting it on fire, according to a court document filed earlier this month.
The video was posted on a Snapchat account on July 6, according to a search warrant request filed July 12 by an Animal Control investigator seeking access to one of the mens cellphones.
Animal Control received a complaint about the video and went to question both men the next day. ... One of them told the officer that the second man brought the hamster to his house to feed it to his corn snake. The snake bit the rodent but did not kill it.
It was at that time that one of the men doused it with gas and lit it, the warrant application said. ... No charges are currently listed for either of the two men in online court records.
