Virginia State Police Experienced Email Outage 4/26 through ???

Last edited Fri Apr 28, 2017, 11:09 AM - Edit history (1)

This is a news article I read yesterday although the release is dated a day earlier. Email was supposed to be back up midday 4/27. I can't find anything about this on the Virginia State Police website, nor has there been an update to any of the six news stories I checked.

04/26/2017 Release from the Virginia State Police:

RICHMOND – The Virginia State Police is currently working, in cooperation with the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) and Northrup Grumman, to identify, contain and eradicate malware that has impacted the department’s email network.

In order to address this concern, State Police will be unavailable to the public by email beginning 8 p.m. Wednesday (April 26, 2017). The shutdown is anticipated to last through noon Thursday (April 27).
