State rejects Richmond man's appeal to keep FTRU MPK license plate

Lawyer and former teacher Don Butler of Richmond says his license plate means that President Donald Trump has flunked.

The state has rejected a Richmond man’s appeal to keep the letters “FTRU MPK” on the personalized plates of his Lexus SUV.

Don Butler, a lawyer and former teacher, does not like President Donald Trump and chose the plate to express his feelings. He plans to keep up his fight to keep the plates.

His first appeal came after he got a letter from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles in May saying he needed to turn in the plates because they violated state guidelines. Butler has said someone at the DMV must have had a dirty mind.

The F and the K in the plate, Butler said, stand for “flunk” and Butler said he thinks Trump has flunked. ... In a four-page ruling dated Sept. 29, DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb said the state doesn’t care about Butler’s intended meaning.

Well. Here's the first page of the letter. The guy's address is in here, but I don't think he cares. It's near UR. My older brother used to live in that part of Richmond.
