UVA updates policy regarding time, place and manner of speech

From Newsplex (TV)

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The University of Virginia has revised its policy regarding the time, place and manner of outdoor expressive activity on Grounds for groups that are not affiliated with the university.

The changes now require unaffiliated persons to make reservations to gather in certain designated locations on certain days and during certain hours.

"The University of Virginia is committed to the constitutional principle of free speech and to the safety and security of every member of this community," said UVA President Teresa Sullivan.

The policy focuses on the activities of outside people or groups and is designed to provide a framework for such unaffiliated people to assemble peacefully on Grounds for constitutionally permissible speech.

I hate these one sentence paragraphs. The rest is at http://www.newsplex.com/content/news/UVA-updates-policy-regarding-time-place-and-manner-of-speech-481782601.html

The policy is at https://uvapolicy.virginia.edu/policy/PRM-017

It appears to limit non-university affiliated activities to certain hours and places. I'm still wading through the policy. No more surprise visits from Spencer and the Tiki Torch crew?
