Friend moving to Richmond VA...input please

She is going to work with the food bank in Richmond. Any ideas about where she can meet Democrats and which neighborhoods are safe and which to avoid. She is 63, and knows no one so I am asking you guys. Thanks for anything you can tell us!

Most neighborhoods in the City proper would be fine. The neighboring counties are generally conservative and finding a welcoming area could be hit or miss. The downtown churches are full of Democrats, I believe. Centenary Methodist Church downtown is a Reconciling Congregation, for instance.

I'm sure she can meet liberal people through the food bank. We are not that few and far between in the City. Let me know if she has specific questions.

that's a lot of good ideas. She found a house to buy close to the food bank but was unsure of the neighborhood.
