Huskies ranked in preseason coaches poll for the fourth consecutive year

College football is just a few weeks away, which means it's time for the preseason polls to start rolling out.

Though the Washington Huskies haven't named a starting quarterback for the 2019 season, the Dawgs came in at No. 12 in the preseason coaches poll and indication of the respect that the program has built up during Chris Petersen's tenure. UW has now made the preseason top-25 for four consecutive years.

Joining them from the Pac-12 are Oregon, Utah, Washington State and Stanford. That number represents a sharp jump from the 2018 preseason, which saw only Washington and Stanford make the poll. On the one hand, the increased presence is great for the conference: being ranked early means you just have to avoid bad losses. Conversely though, if the Pac-12's teams stumble and fall out early, that will likely be used as further proof that they just can't hang with the rest of the Power 5.
