Lake Stevens City Council approves Costco agreement
LAKE STEVENS At its Tuesday night meeting, the Lake Stevens City Council voted 6-0 to approve Costcos development agreement.
That does not mean the company can build yet. Now, it must submit a construction plan and apply for building permits. The development agreement serves as a contract between Costco and the city.
On Tuesday, more than 100 people crowded into the Lake Stevens City Council chambers for the second time.
Every chair was filled and groups lined up against the walls, spilling into the hallway. It was a similar scene just a couple of weeks before, when the council first had a chance to vote on the wholesalers development agreement. As public comment stretched past 9 p.m., they decided to continue the discussion at Tuesday nights meeting.
