Seattle may hit 90 degrees Monday for the first time this year

Seattle is headed for the hottest day of the year, possibly hitting 90 degrees Monday.

So far we have only hit 87 degrees at Sea-Tac Airport on May 10 and July 20.

The region is expected to warm up to the 80s on Sunday with Monday being the hottest day of the week. Onshore winds will gradually increase Tuesday and Wednesday cooling temperatures back to the upper 70s and low 80s.

However, Monday probably won’t beat the hot weather record for that day. The record for July 27 is 95 degrees, set in 1998.
