Marysville renters may qualify for $1,500 relief grants

MARYSVILLE — Those who need help paying rent in Marysville might be eligible to receive a $1,500 grant through the city, as part of the CARES Act.

Applications to receive the money will be accepted through Aug. 13. Grants are limited to one per household and do not have to be repaid. In all, the city plans to distribute $250,000 in Marysville CARES Community Rent Relief Grants.

To qualify, applicants are required to live within Marysville, be behind on rent payments, earn a lower income than the average area household and be financially affected by COVID-19. They also must not have been delinquent on rent payments for six months prior to March 1.

The Marysville City Council unanimously approved the program at its Monday meeting.
