Washington ranked as 10th safest state during COVID-19 pandemic
Washington ranked as one of the safest states amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a new study from Wallethub, Washington took the 10th spot on the list of the safest states during COVID-19. The study took into account a number of factors including the rate of virus transmission, the number of deaths and the percentage of people who have been vaccinated.
Still, the ranking doesn't mean people in Washington can let their guards down. The virus is still spreading, and only a fraction of Washington residents are fully vaccinated.
"As the U.S. works to get the COVID-19 pandemic under control, staying safe is one of Americans top concerns," the report said. "Safety is also essential for getting the economy back on track, as the lower COVID-19 transmission and deaths are in a state, the more that state is able to eliminate restrictions on businesses."
