Boeing to open a 737 production line in Everett

The Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) is bringing its largest commercial airplane program to Everett, Boeing Commercial Airlines CEO Stan Deal announced to employees Monday.

The Everett factory will house the company's fourth 737 production line, where it will build its largest narrow-body models such as the 737-8-200 and the 737 Max 10.

Boeing has three existing 737 production lines in Renton, all of which will remain. The third production line will be reactivated, Deal said in the email.

To accommodate the new production line, the company plans to move 787 quality control work that was conducted in two buildings at the Everett factory to the former 747 production line. The 737 line will be established where the 787 work had taken place.

For that plane. It's been a tough few years for us.
