Traffic on I-5 begins moving again following wrong way crash near JBLM
Acollision involving a wrong-way vehicle and semi-truck blocked all lanes of traffic on Interstate 5 near Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) Tuesday afternoon.
All southbound lanes have since reopened and some northbound lanes have reopened.
The collision happened in the northbound lanes of I-5 at milepost 120, near JBLM's main gate just after 3 p.m. The collision shut down the highway completely, causing major backups in the South Sound during the afternoon commute.
All southbound lanes reopened just before 5 p.m. and some northbound lanes began to reopen.
